Los Angeles, May 22, 2009 - As a volunteer with the Los Angeles Youth Network's Mentor program Paule Valerie sought yet another way to be of service in a grander way. Her initial involvement with the organization - which exists to provide services to runaway, homeless, high-risk and system youth - began in 2007 through monetary gifts. It was not long afterwards that Valerie sought more hands-on involvement with the organization. She found out LAYN had a mentor program and she knew that's what she wanted to do.
During one of her mentor/mentee meetings, Paule Valerie engaged her mentee in a worry management technique she soon implemented in her Take That Worry and Shove It podcast. Her mentee noted that the exercise was a useful tool. Later that evening Valerie asked herself, "If this technique helped my mentee, perhaps it could help the other kids in the program?"
The next day Paule Valerie contacted the appropriate staff at LAYN and inquired about holding a worry management workshop. The LAYN powers-that-be agreed to the workshop, which has been scheduled for June 9th, 2009.

Los Angeles, May 22, 2009 - Tonight marked Paule Valerie's debut into the world of improv comedy performance. For the past six weeks she has been diligently rehearsing improv comedy at the LA Connection Comedy Theatre in Sherman Oaks.
Paule Valerie recalls her introduction to improv was a brief warm up in a performance workshop taken a few years ago. She was bitten by the improv bug at that time, citing having really enjoyed the process of relying on instinct to carry a scene.
Little did Paule Valerie realize that the seed planted in 2004 would sprout five years later. An opportunity presented itself in March 2009 to perform improv and Valerie took it without a second thought. She will continue to perform a few times a month at the theatre.
Photos below were taken from the debut performance.
